Thanx for posting should be on every surfers wax sticker , an arm artery restriction technique other than tornagueit (typo) would be handy to know .
Cutting the blood supply off with this technique is similar to suspension trauma from hanging in a safety harness , the leg straps compress artery , if ever rescuing, place patient in sit position as the sudden release of blood can be fatal .
And if its you with that catastrophic injury- not that I ever hope anyone here has to....
If you've lost a limb, feel for the warmth - that's the arterial outflow. Grab it.
Doesn't matter if you are in water, in dark etc you can always feel for the outflow and clamp it off with thumb and forefinger. Else you might not have time to get to people doing the techniques above....
Love the poster, that should just even be in surf shops
Reminds too of the "drowning doesn't look like drowning" that was posted here does anyone still have that? Should be taught in swimming lessons.
^^ Yeah but also no yelling or waving - which makes sense.
As one who 99.9% downed I can attest to that. You can't muster the energy to say help, let alone yell it....
