And great music, although very limited catalogue. Would have got a bit same old after many years.
I'm listening to the Spotify playlist of the doco flat out. Check it out 95 % rotten tomatoes.
Did U south Africans on here listen back in the day?
Though not a South African I lived in that part of the world in the 80's
It was music you would hear all the time
I think a lot of the lyric's went over the heads of most of the conservative Bone Heads but I went to school with the Tutu and Mandela kids at a more progressive school in Swaziland.

Yes, all the time
Cold Fact was "the" album in Durban in the 70's.
He was bigger than the Stones.
One of the first thing I searched on the internet back in the late 90s was Rodriguez. I was looking to buy more albums. Eventually I found Sugermans page, nothing at that stage was known about his whereabouts it was just leave messages of how the music affected your life. There was a rumour he was alive and doing social work but the search was on. It was incredible when his daughters were found and to realise Rodriguez was alive. In Australia he toured twice 78 and 82? the last time with The Oils. We grew up believing he'd OD'd. The internet can be such an amazing tool in the right hands.
He toured here in Melbourne and Sydney in 2016
Awesome artist and 'Searching for Sugar Man' is a must see film.. Soooo good.
My wife was put off watching the film after the first few minutes when they talked about how he suicided in front of his audience by setting fire to himself.. (but that was obviously only a rumour)
I'm pretty sure there was a thread about him around 10 years ago on Seabreeze.
Rubbish. There was never another thread about him in the thirty year history of this forum.
Prove me wrong, Sherlock!

Yeah, I remember someone on a previous thread saying they didn't like Rodreguez's attitude or something when they saw him in concert, bit arrogant or something.
