This review is way over due, but I wanted to spend as much time in varied conditions before giving this board a review. I paid full price like any other punter.
First of all, I like to support Aussie businesses and my last three boards have been from guys who live and breath in Australian waters. The board I am riding these days is the Smook Stump. After seeing some of Jeff's posts and admiring some of his shapes I thought I would give one a crack. I was on Marty's Delta reVamp for a few years but sadly I buckled that one. That was a fantastic board too.
Ordering a custom board from Jeff was as simple as a phone call. We had a nice discussion on my shape criteria and riding style, and what I was looking for in a board. Being familiar with the Delta Boards he understood right away what would make me happy. And he sure did. This board delivers. The Stump that Jeff shaped for me is 5'8", 18.5 inches wide, and 2 1/4 thick, and finished up at 25 liters. The board is lively and loose but still holds firm when you set your rail. I have ridden it in everything from baychop swells to solid head high plus ground swell in cross shore conditions. I have not had one disappointed session yet. One thing I have found in particular is the board tracks really well on floaters. Some boards get really slippery in the aeration of whitewater, but this board holds the line really well tracking across sections of broken waves. Sadly I have not had the opportunity to ride it in smooth cross off conditions with any sort of barrel section but I have zero doubt that this board will absolutely crank in those conditions. The concave on the board is subtle and I like the transition into the tail area. The board goes extremely well upwind and some of that does have to do with the Quabba fins. I have quickly learned to love those puppies after riding JonJon's for a number of years. (I liked the Clay Marzo fins in a quad setup as well). It's hard to measure the percentage of gain you get from the Quabbas, but it's there. The hype behind them is real.
Jeff was a pleasure to deal with and delivered as promised. Quality board, decent price, and a really excellent shape.

The boards you have is similar the WAVE model - Pretty sure "stump" does the Glassing for Jeff., hence the name stump on the board.

the new shredder model rides and looks as good as anything the big guys can do.

Ah, I didn't know Stump was the glasser, my apologies. Credit where it's due, the glass job was beautifully done. Board is light but reinforced where it's needed. I ride strapped in most of the time and love to jump, so the extra carbon under the deck pads was a great solution.
