Hello all
I now have one of these in a PR25 yacht - see summary at the below link; it runs (hand crank, have to re-establish the electrics ....) and appears to be in good condition for age - installed early 90s. 1 cylinder, 9hp at 2600rpm.

I have the manual and parts list from the above link.
Does anyone have experience with these so as to advise "unexpected" operational or maintenance actions which I should be aware of and address as relevant. Of course I will do the normal maintenance but the maintenance and operational history of the unit is unknown.
Great thanks in advance.

Morning Bird had a Sole, Mini 23. There was a business here in Sydney, Headland Engineering, who had lots of knowledge and new and used spares for all sorts of Sole engines. They are still online as being in Yennora.
Thanks yes I have been in contact with Headland Eng they have been very good. Didn't ask them the above questions but may do down the track.
I have mini 3 in a yacht I just purchsed and I have found the water pump isn't working correctly and it overheated first run to the dock . So first thing is make sure the water pump is working correctly. They are cheap to rebuild but you will need to order some of the parts as headland didn't have all the parts in stock so they have to come from spain. As in needed mine working in a hurry to move the boat I had to buy a new pump for $506. , the part I need form Spain is only $20 , So I will rebuild the old pump as a spare
Most of your engine is a Lombardini 3ld 450 . its mostly the water cooling that is the difference
Many thanks for this. I have got the 3ld 450 manuals off the web. Ok I will inspect the water pump impeller and housing and service as relevant and order a new impeller as a spare.
