Just got home after packing up our stand at the AWBF.
If you haven't been, and I don't care if you're a plastic boat enthusiast, this event is simply a must for every boaty!!
All the vendors say it's the best boat show in the country and I met people from every state in Australia as well as San Diego, Netherlands, Austria and NZ.
As for business, anyone know a bit about rigging and wants a job in Tassie?! Probably 20 furlers sold (a few deposits taken), at least 5 re-rigs and countless other smaller jobs, all to be done this year!!

So book your accommodation now for 2021 so you can get somewhere in walking distance:))

I sailed on Storm Bay. We took 14 days to get to Hobart from Queenscliff. Went Island hopping basically, 1st night the Glennies where I caught 4 snapper for dinner, then on to Deal for short fin pike and a few crays and a school shark. Nice night at House Bay and then Winter Cove. On to Flinders Is for Pike, a nice Rock Flathead and 4 huge whiting, then down the West coast of Flinders Is for a night at Badger Is etc etc........
The show was great giving me a chance to ask other wooden boat owners how they set up and look after their boats.

Leaving our last anchorage before sailing around the bottom and into Storm Bay and Nubena our boats home port back in the 1920's.

Tim decided to leave the topsail up even though the wind had picked up a bit. He likes to let the spectators at the sail past for the opening of the festival get an idea ofhowStorm Baycan sail. She's quite a powerfull boat!

Me in concentration mode...

There are a few nice videos on Off The Harbour's facebook page as well.

had a great time at the festival as always drove down with the dingy on the ute stopped at malacota for a sail for a couple of days stopped at a mates place at meduna had a great sail in 25 knots and flat water then post festival spent 2 days sailing at lake pedder in 5 degrees and hail very different to what a Queenslander is used to but a beautiful spot
storm bay looked amazing with full gear on tearing around the Derwent we were on Laurabada with staysail and mizzen feeling slightly embarrassed at her show of good sailing though we didn't spill the champagne though lost a few biscuits in the gusts

That dinghy would have to have won a prize down there boty or did you not enter it in anything for fear of shaming the competition??

there are no prizes at the festival and I didn't put her in its a lot of hassle to display a vessel and you need to be there all the time. I don't think I could deal with that we just took her down as a fun way of exploring inland waterways and for me to have a sail so I don't get bored looking in antique stalls all day with my wife
