I was getting sick of the cheap , wont sell ect type threads . Our hobby / lifestyle choice is just that a choice. The hardware [yachts] that we need to sail around in are varied. And some buyers will pay over the popular guessed value [here], for an almost perfect fit to their hardware need [yacht ] .

Here's the first sold one i found ........yachthub.com/list/yachts-for-sale/used/sail-monohulls/passport-40-robert-perry-designed-blue-water-cruiser/245849

Just sold, was on the market about 6 months and I got what I expected. The broker advised me that the market has been busier over the last 3 months compared to the previous 6 months.

These threads that have been quoting gloom and doom are crap. Just idiots trying to talk the market down. The majority of people that own ocean going yachts are not short of a quid and are never going to be forced sellers. I could of easily sat on Amadeus for another six months if I wanted to. I was happy to sell "at the market" which is what happened. If anything COVID-19 has INCREASED demand.

She was beautifully presented ilenart. I would have thought she would fetch mid 40s.

I thought that boat was well priced and the wheel steering was the only thing I had against it. I have it in my saved list, I've always liked UFO's. It's still advertised on yachthub but I will scratch it off my list. There has been a lot of sales of quality well priced yachts in the last few months.

The sale price was always likely to start with a 3. Lots of UFO 34's, S&S 34s and similar yachts have recently sold for less than $30k. For mid 40s you would probably need a lot more new gear, ie $20-30k worth of gear to add $10k to the price

I hear you. I guess it is the "$1,000 per foot mentality" in action.

Way back I bought an alloy Peterson 42 for $75k, owned it for 6 years and sold it for $110k, but that was then not now. I am sure I evaporated a fair bit more than $35k during the time I had it.
