I have had the 1200 for nearly 2 years but never really used it while I had the 1600 and recently the 1550 then 1850 and 1250 wings. I was going to sell it and then yesterday thought I would take it out in some decent head high waves. The previous day I was on the 1250 in similar waves i rode 25 top speed 31 kms and probably had about 8 good crashes. On the 1200 I had 20 waves top speed 29 and only fell off once on the inside when I was trying to really push a turn. It felt really hard to breach. A couple of times I was really high where my hs wings would crash it just twitched and carried on. For me it feels like way more suited to solid waves than the 1250 and turns really well. I think if I sold it I would probably replace with the 1050 but that still may not be as easy to ride or as hard to crash as the 1200. I was on 85 mast 300 tail +1 shim and 85 kg. Haven't used the 1550 since I got the 1250 and 1850
The 1050 will blow your mind, super fast and turns like nothing else........probs Armstrong's best wing.
The 1200 is a great wing too ,and suited to learners and intermediate ,wouldn't put a learner on the 1050
Loved my 1200 but at 105 kg it dropped off quickly. The 1250 is my go to with 232 and 0 shim. Got solid waves the other day and it handled them with aplomb. Not as surfy as the 1200. Will get a 1050 for tow in.
Yes probably thats why I wasn't falling off it. It suits my ability level.
You can still make the 1200 faster and looser quiet a lot by using the 232 tail or the cut down 212 tail for more speed and turning performance as well as dropping to a 50 fuse instead of 60.So there is several performance steps that make a noticeable difference before needing to buy a 1050. I would try the tails first as they make a big difference and they are cheaper than 50 fuse.
I know someone that has gone back to his 1200 after using the 1250 for a while. There might be something in what you are saying in the waves. Can't beat the glide of the 1250 though damn that's a nice wing.
Yes most of the time I am riding a wave that backs off a lot and the 1250 keeps going better and further but on a decent wave the 1200 feels better for me. I actually prefer to not go so fast on the foil. At 30 km I don't really want to turn too much where as at 25 or 22 its a lot of fun. At 62 I don't expect to be Kai Lenny. Like surfboards the boards that the pros ride will not be the best board for most people.

You are spot on , the 1200 is a nice smooth wing

I've started riding my 1200 again and prefer it to the 1250. I've been prone and tow surfing it and am blown away by how surfable it is after suffering constant breaches on the 1250...(especially doing cutbacks at speed).
The CF1200 is an awesome wing.I have been using it with the A+ set up 232 tail No shim 60 fuse. Been prone foiling from 1.5 feet to 6 feet. I'm am 93kgs and every one loves the HS 1050 wing but must guys foiling on them are around 75 to 80 kgs so the CF 1200 wing being a little heavier is spot on.
How does the 1200 Go at pumping and linking on a prone board because I'm allergic to paddling back out now!

If you exit with speed you can link the next wave or maybe the one after ??. But what you lose in pump it definitely gaine in carve ??

Just had a surf on the 1200 again after the last 6 months on the 1050 and 1250. It felt really good very reliable and good turns. Could be my favourite wing.

For me the best wing of the range for prone surfing whatever size wave. Add the Flying V tail and it's even better !

I have tried it once before and wasn't a fan. But I will try it out one more time and double check ????
Chopped the 1250 and it glides forever plus turns almost as well as the 1050. Feckn awesome
So Hilly & Tom what was the amount you chopped the 1250 any photo, cheers
Sky Rama does a good vid on it using a can to get the right curve. I did 18mm. Below is 1550 but same same.

Ok thanks, so 18mm less on both ends on the 1250 and or the 1550V2.Will check Sky Rama.
18 to 30mm people have used. I would start at 18mm and see how you go.
