Where are you staying? There would be heaps, most tide dependent.

Thinking canggu or karemas , only booked flights and open for suggestions for area to stay.

Been a billion years since I visited but medewi seems it would be a good setup? Sandy and relatively mellow wave. Long rides.

This time of year canggu and there are waves either side

Most "name" spots have waves either side or reforms that would be good. Airport rights, Kuta Reef and all the waves out on Bukit Peninsula.
Sanur will be onshore this time of year but good for the early. Wind picks up from about 10.
Enjoy

Just got back from Bali 2 weeks ago and took my sup foil. I should have taken my surfboard as well because it was windy( 30km+) most days and there was a reasonable swell running with the normal crowds out at Kuta Reef and Airports. I checked out Dreamland but it was too big. I went to Berawa Beach which is supposed to be good with reforms but there was a strong cross shore and decent swell. Another time I went to a bar there with the family one evening and there were good waves and no one out. They were the best foiling waves I saw and I had to watch.

I also went across to Nusa Lembongan and surfed Shipwrecks but like Kuta Reef and Airports had to take the left overs down the line. Good to be in boardies instead of a steamer but would have preferred to have been on my surfboard. I was told on the other side of the airport runway ( Jimbaran Bay side) about 100m from the runway, there is a popular spot for foilers but when I went there it wasn't working. I could see the potential and would definitely try there!

It was so crowded on the roads that travelling between spots takes time and it is probably better to take soft racks and hire a driver or taxi for $45 to $60 a day. I'd certainly stay around the Berawa Beach area at this time of year.

My friend Jonni from Rip Curl School of Surfing in Sanur is taking foiling to the next level in Bali and has a wide range of foils (www.facebook.com/foilbali/photos/pcb.343479516367652/343479043034366/?type=3&theater).

Give him a buzz!

Good info in here so far, was also wondering if anyone is aware of the best spots for foil surfing on Lombok during rainy season? I can gather that inside ekas would be suitable although I have only ever stayed near Gerupuk but will definitely try to make my way over to Ekas this time. Any other tips?

Also will try and check out Sanur in bali after Lombok, looks like it could be good.

That's funny john, that was post from last trip in June. Just did foil camp with Jono on lombok and well worth going. Recommend to anyone trying to improve skills, I got better at sup foil, learnt prone foiling and feel in love with tow in foiling.
