thanks Beasho
my 29.5 mast/fuselage same look as yours but its = 2.400kg and that's a 100g difference and maybe you have the new 1.5 model but painted previous years model or maybe my scale is out of wack. Also, the adapter tuttle to plate mount is 490g.
this 29.5 mast/fuselage is game a changer for me combine with GL210 & GL 18W
I'm looking forward to test out the other front wings like GL140 & GL180?
Only the NEW GoFoil 1.5 wings are 30-40% lighter not the masts.... Absolutely loving the new GL wings in the surf...

GL is the shizzle
what's the weight on the latest 1.5 29.5 mast/fuselage because the gofoil Australian site said 40% lighter?
Also, gofoil Australian you need to add the new gl tail in the menu - foils - gl series
nice move Kite Republic and looking forward to some gofoil demo someday
Hey mate. That's a typo. It'll be fixed up shortly. The only thing 40% lighter is the Kai, IWA, 200 & 280 along with the tail wings.
appreciate the feedback on website. It will be altered soon.
Anyone know the dimensions for the GL140 and GL100? Nowhere online I can find. Looking for wingspan, chord.
Using clamsmasha's guess above that 140 and 100 are square inches, the surface areas would be 903 and 645cm2.

I know the 140 is the same span as the Iwa.

Yes the million dollar question what are the actual cm2 or square inch area of the GL Gofoils . For the life of me I don't know why they refuse to post any size information , it does my head in . Re the GF 180 it's really close to the Uni /Sig 210 which is square inches = 1160cm2 so no the GF 140 , 180 , 210 & 240 are just random numbers not square inches . The 140 is sort of close to the IWA.
What beats me is why everyone gets so wound up about it? There is so much going on with foil, shape, thickness and angles every which way I don't even if you knew the actual surface area that this would be the best way to compare?? The affects of everything else would mean they wouldn't be the same anyway! Just sayin.....

You are right but it is an important information, easy to compare, just like the lenght of a board, or the volume, it is not the only thing but important to know.
Yeah I agree , it's not all about size but when MFC , Armstrong , Takuma, Gong , Starboard , Unifoil , Neil Pryde, Cabrhina, Duotone , Fanatic , Moses , Lift , Slingshot , Liquid Force , Signature, Ono , NSP , ECS , Konrad and of course Axis who post every aspect of their wings that GoFoil feel it's not important. Go onto any of those sites and you will get some form of size comparison between all brands except GoFoil . I just don't get it .
Like when I paddle a typical downwinder here, I will be on the 240, my other friend a 1900 and the other two on 102's! Doesn't take much to work out whats what.
If the Uni210 is 1160cm/2 and the GL180 is pretty much the same, 180sqin = 1161cm/2....
I think Unifoil 210 is 1354cm2

I agree, seems bizarre to me ... if you live somewhere with a shop and own a measuring tape, this info is easily obtained. It's not exactly a secret once they are out there, so why hide it? I notice GoFoil doesn't even list the GL wings on its website, which is also kinda weird, as they've been for sale a while, listed on shop sites (though with no specs).
As to why this info is helpful: it helps to figure out which wing is optimal for you, to comparison shop between brands, and maybe to entice people to switch over. More info is better IMHO.
the new tail's looking good, and I'm guessing more stability and carve for days and good to see we can reuse the existing pedestal. Looking forward to the test day. That GL140 interesting as I did like the IWA.

Are you referring to the bottom mount pedestal that the sponsored folks seem to be using? Do we need to put another hole into our pedestal?

looks like no holes required, pedestal mount still the same position and also the wing mount except the wing itself has change to a flat with wing tip like most other brands are doing. I'm not sure about the width and cord. I like my 18W tail, though as a beginner is a bit sketchy and I'm guessing that wing tip might be more stable to lock and load you into surf narvana
Can confirm:
-length and cord dimension will be listed soon on GF Aus & international website changing.
- the numbers on GF don't refer to any projected area they are just a reference for the range
- flipped pedestal is a completely different pedestal
- new flat wings in testing (I tried one today)
- GF has a bunch of new wings and equipment landing soon

I like progress mr gofoil though if I have to buy another pedestal and tail wing setup that sux and I must say very expensive. I might as well buy another brand and spend extra to buy a complete setup that has more flexibility and interchangeable parts.

Tap it,
Have the best of both worlds.
The current pedestal is for the top seated wings compatible with the current 18" flat tail then in R&D is the ones with flip up edges. There is two a 14.5" and 17.5" I'm pretty sure that's what we were using. The flipped up edge tail wings can be used both ways on top mount and bottom mount pedestals.
The bottom mounted pedestal works as a fuselage shortener piece. Think of it like you have your mast and fuselage one piece. Then instead of like other brands having different length fuselage these are extensions pieces or shorteners as a add on.
I hope that made sense. We are riding again tomorrow.

Do you mean new front wings? Is it something between high performance GL and fat old wings?

Mainly tail wings. Then some new front wings will be added, pedestals.

You mean a carbon mast with pedestal for tracks?
That's about time, more and more boards come with track only...

Everything GoFoil is full carbon. The mast and fuselage is one piece. The pedestals are for the tail to either reduce or add length & how the tail wings are mounted besides the traditional tails.
as for masts. There's currently 28.5" plate. Two more to be added soon & if you want longer you can add plate adapter to tuttle mast..

How did you feel the bottom mount tails worked versus the top? Also, any insight into the new front wings?
Yes I have with the 280. The new flat tail feels good with the old wings too but I only use this flat tail wing for downwind. I used it surfing a couple of times but I prefer the old Maliko tail. The flatter tail doesn't feel as drivey for surfing but I am looking forward to trying the new one with the bent tips which I am guessing will give more of that "on rail" feel. All personal I think.
