Hi,
mainly in Wingdingin, what is the impact of the board wide on the foil.
i am
Riding a 5.0 // 66cm wide board. I like it but I think I need something easier to turn front side cause as the board is wide turning frontside is not that easy.
Any experience to share regarding the Wide of the board ?
That is a small SUP.
I am riding a 180cm long, 73cm wide board without any issues turning either way.
Just sounds like you need more time on the board.
The negative I noticed winging with a SUP, (66cm is SUP width) is the rails hitting when going upwind hard, and the corners of the tail kissing the water in turns, and really bad doing this in waves. Don't need square wide tails on a wing board.

And how long is your mast? That I think is the problem.

Agree with this next wingding board will be narrower and a pin tail. Maybe like this.

You are already on quite a small board but if you feel comfortable then taking some nose and tail width off wont hurt. Full difference will be minimal but it might make a few small areas easier. We have been playing with a bunch of new ideas and if we pull the tail in we like to do it with hips more than just making a full curve to a pin tail as using the hips lets us keep the middle wide point a little longer and helps keep the board as stable as possible for its size.
Wide nose and wide tail is easier for most things and can make life easy but like SUP surfing we will all push the limits of what we can do and then go back up a size

I am riding a SUP version of this at the moment that i am testing and the difference between this and my normal wider nose and tail sup is pretty small. It's a little harder to stand around on, maybe can pump it a touch better but not 100% sure yet. I can pump both up about the same when in DW.
So really pulling the nose and tail in might make small differences but its not a game changer.

Haha good question, can't really say to much just yet but they are blood good and been a massive difference to anything else i have been on.
Apparently they cost a lot too
Holy **** I agree this cost us a fortune and until recently I really thought I might have just made the most expensive foils ever for myself and Benny to use but with some skillful negotiations and pure good looks the price will be no more than what is already on the carbon market and maybe even cheaper than some.
Definitely not getting made in the same place as any other foil on the market and not in China which has to be a bonus for me and the people who will hopefully buy it??
Fun times ahead!
