I've been foiling (prone) for about 6 months now, feel like I can pump great when on a wave or using a kite but still can't pump back out when prone surfing.
Mainly using a NP Glide large front & small stab, would the large stab help for the pumping ?
Also any tips on pumping back out would be appreciated.

The main thing is timing!!
With pumping back out in the surf a few key things are needed.
1: when you come of your wave you must keep the speed up as you come of the back. If you come of to slow it is hard to make speed but easy to maintain the speed you already have.
2: Stay high on the foil this will make sure as you come of the back the first pump you do will be a good pump down which helps alot. If you come of to low then you need to lift on the first pump which is hard to build speed from.
The rest is just practice on building your pump technique, you will notice some people make it look super smooth and like they are not really trying to hard while others seem to work way to hard. This just comes with time!!
Also un-weighting is a big part, it will supercharge your pump.
Timing timing and more timing!
This video is a good one to get an idea,
Right there with you toppleover. I just heard it described as hanging from a bar and doing quick leg lifts. Seems to check out. When I try to "jump" i don't get nearly as far as when I "unweight".
Is there consensus as to what foils pump "better"? Some foils lift nicely on a pump, others give forward projection (always at the expense of something else). Here the Signature DWD wing is considered the best foil to pump but it's not the easiest in terms of stability - the guys using it in surf are going out faster than they are going coming in. Conversely I've tried the Maliko 280 and it seems to lift you up nicely and just keep you there, but there isn't that much forward projection .
What determines how well a foil pumps?
