Last time I rail taped a foil board it was a bloody mess, I couldn't get it to sit flat around the nose I had to cut all the wrinkles and being a short board I whack the front sides any tips would be great ??
yes I know don't hit the sides with the paddle but that ain't me

Just put some helicopter tape around your paddle blade. (3M 8671HS)
I use 2 layers.
I cut them in strips of 15mm x 1m

If you want rail tape, use the RSPro ones, much better than the rest and easy to apply: they dont wrinkle, they are thick and rigid, but stretchable. Plus you can reposition them at will if you mess up. But as they are textured, they will eat into paddle guards, so basically it is rail guard or paddle guard.
