Hi ! Did anyone ever tested to bring a little 4m Two lines kite ( with short lines ) in order to ride upwind after a Big Downwind on the Sup ?
I have to make few tests but I am curious if anybody already thought of this ?
HI.
I'm kitesuping and kitesupfoiling since a few years with very very short lines. I use kite 10/12m2 with 3/5m lines, to ride from 8 to 20knts, a small foilkite of 4,5m2 with NO lines to ride from 12 to 25 knts, and a Pansh Aurora 16m2 with no lines too. That's realy fun !!
Wow Very Nice ! What I had in mind is using a little 2 lines Power Kite in order to make me go upwind and then finding a way to put it in a back pack and foil downwind.
Would you think this would work ?
YES it will works, that's exactly what i'm doing with my 4,5m kite. People are tripping when i fly with this hankerchief, i pack it in a small backpack, no harness, and i can launch it on water. It's a kind of foilkite.
If you use short lines and 2 lines kite it will be very difficult to control, you need a B/C. With short line (0 to 3m) it will change the canopy, so you have 2 solutions: a very low aspect ration kite but not very good for upwind. Or a moderate aspect ration but you will need to adapt the bridels.
I keep the B/C unhooked thanks to my bar. With the small kite i use a simplified version of what you see at 10sec in the first video.
