The 101 wing is coming back in stock in some places and getting sold out on the same day

I've managed to get a 100 wing, wondering whether to persist with getting a 101 for light wind days or instead get a 102 - thoughts ?

102 is way more light wind than a 101, and way more boring.

101 if your goal is to pump back out, or pump down wind forever. Pumping and glide is what it does best.

102 for lightest winds winging, smallest waves.

1000 less glide than 101 but more fun carving turns.

I realise that... Maybe I'll stick to kitefoiling in those conditions instead.

Alysum, the 1000 is awesome for winging and I'd go for the 920 for the lighter winds. It's a little faster than the 102 and more fun. The 102 is great for learning but if you're already riding then you'll like the better performance of the 920, you won't lose much low end if any.
If I'm going out just to wing, the 1000 is my choice set up. The carves are tight even at high speed and the glide will have you forgetting about the wind wing as you're charging the ocean swells.

That's a good point thanks.

Has anyone noticed the amount of used Axis s series gear available for sale all of a sudden lately ? I wonder why. People needing the cash or upgrading ?

Axis would easily be one of the largest seller of foils in Aus . Long established in kiting , windsurfing , Sup & now prone foiling. All parts are interchangeable . not strange to see more items for sale than other brands , especially now they have released new light weight fuselages , thinner Ali & Carbon mast. 6 new rear wings plus all the new front wings with more coming as I type . I have sold all my old Axis gear and replaced it with all the new stuff.

The most balanced overall wing for the 900 , the smaller ones are good for punchy prone waves but the 390 has a pretty wide range . The down turned shape seems to really fit the limited roll of the 900 , let's it turn harder without loosing it's lift. .

Would it also work with the S1000 on a sup with paddle or wing?

Yes works well with the 100 as well and especially on the wing nice grip on a reach .

Yes, I had my best session ever with the 1000 and 390 winging and connecting waves holding the wing by the nose. Low drag, the right amount of lift, good turning. Relaxed ride. Instant magic. It woke up the 1000 with a performance boost, in the right way.

Everyone has been going on about the 370 lately. What's the difference with my 400 in particular ?

It's smaller width , cord and wing tips . Your rear wing is drag the smaller you go , less drag . Which lets you go faster can turn tighter plus get a more efficient pump . This comes at cost at a cost of stability but you get used to it .

For slow micro waves with the S1020, I manage to get up on the foil but I obviously have not a lot of speed to start with and I lose my speed after a few seconds, this is with a 60(when it is shallow) or 75 cm mast, the short fuse and the 440 rear.

What to do to stay up longer?

-Smaller rear? (less drag)
-Ultrashort fuse?
-longer paddle so that I can use it when up?

Go ultra short fuselage and 340 rear. This will make your pump easier and give more speed and turnability. This is using the 1010 set up I recommend with a no wave day.

Just to make sure : I was talking about getting flying with a paddle, not a wing.
I don't stand a chance when there is no wave...
I have ordered the S1010 in November , hope to get it soon now, but it will be more difficult to get flying with a paddle than the S1020 I suppose?
And going from the 440 to the 340 is a big step!

I was referring to using a paddle. You'll paddle faster with a flat foil also and it's same or better low end catching waves as the 1020. The 1010 is pretty stable also. A few waves and you'll be dialed in with the 340.

Doubt they'll ship International, but I'll have to check. As of yet- unfortunately- not in stock where I am.... checked Maui dealer and California dealers- both don't have yet.

Check live2kite.com for US sales. If they're not in, they should be soon.

I am going to order the S1010 , a 76 cm carbon mast and a new fuselage.
The carbon mast is going to fit only on the new fuselage...
I am still in doubt if it will be wise to get an ultrashort fuselage , they are a bit too expensive to get a new short fuselage as well.
I am sure my daughter will be used to an ultrashort fuse and a 340 rear instantly but I need a setup that is a bit forgiving for my much slower reflexes.....

I was also thinking about the 390 rear but it is not available in Europe yet.
