Finally got this finished and out on the water.
First impressions were pretty good. Actually paddles nicely. For playing around in the surf and so my 10 year old daughter can come paddling with me.
Great home build Tarquin, what was the material used?
Cookie dough and chocolate :-)
Joke aside, what a beauty!
Tried to make a skateboard out of cookie dough once.
Doesn't work well.
Paulownia veneer,cork and PU glue.
Back to wood and epoxy after that.
The board is carbon innegra on the bottom. Didn't do a great job in the vac bag so had to fill some areas. Then UD flax and epoxy with blue tint to try and cover up the filler. Then UD carbon flax rail tape. The deck is light glass then 3mm high density foam. Carbon kevlar patches in the standing area and tail. 125g S-glass then the cork. Left the cork. Just some water based sealer.
Awesome board tar quin
Great thinking of board for your daughter but also your board in the waves.
Suggest create a logo and custom brand name to get vinyl cut stickers on your boards.
