Hi all,
Wondering if anyone knows what the weight is of a JL Supertech 7'10"? Carbon vs standard.
Anyone know how it'd be stability wise for someone who's 70kg soaking wet...
Current board is 8' X 28 5/8" x 3 7/8" and 98L
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Another board I'm considering is the 7"7' destroyer... Just unsure how it compares performance wise.
Hey Sharpsicord,
I'm about the same weight and surf a break that can get quite solid. My Destroyer handles small and bigger waves really well. Cannot comment on how the Supertech goes though.
I too was considering the 7' 10" Supertech but bought the 7' 7" Destroyer. I felt the Supertech's rails were way too thick but the Destroyer has nice thinned out rails. The weight of the Destroyer is 6.5 kg ( standard construction) I love the manoeuvrability of the board. It paddles really well and is very stable.
GooD luck with your decision.

Thanks TBM, that's great info.
Hi there
i have a 8'3 carbon supertech. It was crazy light when I got it, like 6.3kg. I've added a deck pad to it so is slightly heavier now but still really light.
im about 70kg and have ridden mine in everything from clean 1ft to heavy moving water double overhead and everything in between. It's been the best 'one board for it all' I've ever tried.
stability wise, it always felt more stable for its volume than anything else I'd tried. I also had a jc deep pro 8'4 which was only 1l less volume (same width, tail and rocker shape) but it was so much more unstable.
youd be on the 7'10 if you're Lready under 100l currently and are ok with it.
it has a very even volume distribution and not too thin rails, with a flat deck. The squash tail also adds stability
