Looking for some input. I stepped down from a 10'8 Fusion to a Carbon 9' hypernut. Now I'm 6'3 and 115 kgs. But have been surfing for over 4o years. So fairly advanced. After several months of persistence have no problem paddling the hypernut on flat water but once in the surf I spend most of my time in the water rather than on a wave. I have narrowed it down to a Blue Carbon 10'5 Wide point, a carbon 10 + 34 Whopper.Another board that have checked out is the Sunova Speeed 9'11. Love to get some feedback as I'm not wanting to make the same mistake again. It gets a little expensive.
what are your waves like? fat points, beachies, reef?
I've been upto 113kg and mostly surf a Sunova Custom longboard around Torquay... 10'4?28"?140L. The smallest I've surfed is a 8'2" Skate, 126L.
I've had 2 Speeds and to be honest never really liked em - i just got them on the hype that was around at the time. I've also had a Creek and didn't gel with that either ( probably my fault there - too low volume) I can't fault the quality of Sunova's, just choosing the right one can be tricky. Sup the creek would certainly have some good info for you...
I like the Steeze as an all round wave board. Or a Flow for fatter waves... depending on your style.
I do like the look of the starboard longboard but geez they are $$$$
If you can stay around 30" wide or under, the performance increase is so worth it. Even if you have to go a little longer in length to help balance. I'm toying with the idea of going down to under 27" wide on my next one...
Other options I think are worth a look (but there are heaps more):

Smik Hipster Twin
I also prefer a slightly heavier board, carbon is great, but I like how smooth a heavier board is to ride (esp in chop) and at my weight I can still do snaps etc no problem.
Hi Hoppo, mainly surf beach breaks on the Northern Beaches Sydney. Thanks for the feedback btw, its appreciated. The thing I didn't mention was that I need to be conscious of the weight of the board because I have a dicki shoulder (torn bicep tendon, rotator cuff).
I'd definitely look at the Destroyer, Hipster Twin, Sunova Flow and Infinity RnB also. Perhaps also the JP Surf Wide, or Fanatic Allwave. 140L-150L should be plenty.
Something cheaper that would work well, Waterborne 9'2 Evoke, ECS Wideboy.

9,4 creek would be a good one at you weight,the wider nose gives you the stability you need but still can surf with a radical style,they are quite stabile for their size, Steeze also good great construction

While I appreciate Tardy recommending the 9'4 Creek, I am hesitant to agree.
You are correct... it gets very expensive when you get a board that doesn't work for you.
The 9' Hypernut is a big stable platform at 31.5" wide, on a square board with a super wide nose and tail
That would be more stable than the 9'4 Creek.
I don't want to see you move to another board that lacks the comfort you are looking for.
But I do want to see you get the substantial upgrade in performance and maneuverability that you are looking for.
Based on what you found comfortable and uncomfortable...
I think you are a good match for the new 9'9 x 33.7 Creek at 170 liter
MY friend Jim from Florida wanted maximum stability in a Creek, so Sunova built him a a Big Boy Creek!
Sunova is stoked with this size and has added it to the line.
It will be even more stable than the 9'11 Speeed because it is a full inch wider at the same volume.

I can recommand you waterborn evoke sup too. For that price u cant get better imo.
