Gday

Thinking of getting one of these boards. Just wondering if anyone's got any advice/feedback on the durability of the Limited Edition construction.

I'm a big unit: 6'4" x 98kg novice so the board's going to take some punishment.

Thanks heaps.

Cheers

Mike

I am 95Kg on a 10' Whopper Lite Tech 171L. No problems at all. The Limited construction is the Lite Tech with an extra glass stringer and strengthened rails for strength and stiffness. There should be no problem for you in small waves. Depends on what you want to do.

I'm also curious about durability, specifically from a knee paddling point of view, as I like to clubbie paddle out to warm up stuffed shoulders, and cross train ,again to help with shoulder problems ,if the construction can handle this then I'm on board ! Literally!!!

Hi, I do a fair bit of knee paddling. 75 yo and balance not what it used to be. No depressions so far. Layer of Oz pine under standing area. Also mine has a single centre glass stringer, so the two bilateral stringers in the Limited would have to be better. Plus the stronger rails. Mine got blown off the roof rack landed on one rail then bounced about 20m on a firm grass footpath. Not a mark.
Mike I think the 10'2 might be better if you are mainly into surf whereas the 11'2" would be better for bay or estuary paddling along with surfing. Cheers

You might be lucky at SurfFx if an 8'7" Wedge Limiited Series is what you are thinking. My boy is rapt with his 9'2" (85kg). Cheers

Good Onya Chuck! You've got 11 years on me. Stirling effort! Interesting to hear your comments about how the board is standing up to knee impacts/compressions.

I'm actually an old kneelo (64 yo here) and spent a lot of time on my knees on the SUP when I started moving from the flat into the surf.

My poor old Fanatic Fly is the worse for wear on the deck so it's good to hear the Wedge is standing up well.

Thanks
