I'm considering a step down board and I wanted to check what the brain trust here thinks.

I currently ride an 8.6 x 31.5 SMIK Hipster Twin (134l) and I love it! I am thinking something a bit smaller and a bit more surfy for those days where the waves have a bit more power to them.

I currently have my eyes on a Super Frank 8 * 31 (127l) but not sure if that is enough of a step down.

Welcome some input please.

I just bought that exact sized super Frank 2 weeks ago. I am loving it but I can't compare it to the smik as I've never ridden one. So far I've ridden it in some smaller clean waves and some larger messy waves and have had a blast both days.

speak to Scotty and get a shorter Hipster to suit your requirements I'd suggest something like a 8"2'x 29 @115L . That way jumping from one to the other will be easy. The hipster twins surf amazing

What are your stats? I'm 95kg and have a 7'10 x 29.5 hipster 108l and a 8'5 x 30 120L. Its so easy to swap between boards as they both share the same balance/surfing characteristics. Makes it super easy to jump between the two boards.
