I'd like some help please folks. Im 82 kg and 50 years old and looking for a flat water SUP. I live on the river in West End and will paddle on the river with only city cat wash and wind to deal with. Im an experienced surf SUP rider with a JP Slate (140 lt) and a Sunova Speed (110lt). My old tank of a 14 footer just died after 7 years of service. Im not a brand snob and will never compete but would like to glide fast and not be on something so skinny that the city cat pitches me in. I often paddle in hat/ sunnies/ etc.

Ok here are some suggestions, first is a EDGE 2.0 www.oneoceansportsaustralia.com/shop/edge-20-k8cmw great board which is nice and fast in the flatwater yet very stable for it's sizing. If you want super easy for your size then the 25 would be a good choice and even the 23.5 will fit it to want you want with the experience it looks like you have. The construction on these is so crazy strong and light they are PVC sandwich molded and bomb proof which for a race board is getting pretty rare.
Not sure if you want to step in to the dugout style boards or not but if you do the then the EDGE pro 2.0 will be unbeatable www.oneoceansportsaustralia.com/shop/14ft-edge-pro the 14 x 23.5 would be more than enough board Or if you want to save a little bit of money they i we have a 14 x 23 EDGE pro 2.0 prototype brand new but has a square tail that we are looking to clear now we have the production Edge pro 2.0 boards nearly here. Construction on the proto board is ultralight carbon skin and on the production Edge pro 2.0 we mostly now only do Hollow as it is by far the best construction for a SUP.

Yes mate we always have demos and late next week will also have demos of the new hollow Edge pro 2.0.
If you are in the goldy feel free to come and try as many boards as you like.

If you look for some stability in chop and wind: go for a flatdeck board instead of a dugout styled board. Why? More comfort and stability: fun! I have both: an Infinity dugout Whiplash 14x23 and an Infinity Blackfish 14x24 LTD. I prefere my Blackfish ((flat deck) in choppy, windy conditions with a big fin from VMG Blades. Ok, the dugout is somewhat faster in flat conditions (more momentum and longer glide) but less stable and more influenced by side winds. I am 78 kgs by 180cm, 55 years of age. Using MBpaddles in size medium, 196 and 189cm in length on lakes, rivers and sea. Sailing about 43 years since 1976, windsurfing now and than since 1978, sup since the last 8 years.
