Patiently waiting for a call from Surffx to say the shipment is in. It should be this week or early next week.

I can't wait

I believe things are being held up by industrial action on the wharf side which is keeping a lot of containers out at sea so it could be a while before the ship comes in. Hanging in there myself for my new Sunova Point Break.
Out of Surf FX's control at the moment.

For smooth take offs on "shortboardish" style SUPs, agility is important as proper tilting and positioning of a board is at least as important - if not more - as pure paddling power.

Rockmagnet you are completely right, the Surf FX container was due in nearly 3 weeks ago now but action at the wharf has been holding everything up.
A number of shipping lines have sent out notices that they won't be accepting bookings into Australia for the next 2-4 weeks due to the backlog. Doesn't make it easy when everyone's trying to get their new toys before Chrissy

She is here and ready for a wave! Rail tape on so will head out in the morning and give it a crack.

The stepped rails super thin, the tail on these are still quite wide like the old flows so should pick up waves fairly easily. Happy with the weight 7.4kg with fins very similar to my Smik.

Annnnddd she shreds!

Waves were a bit full this morning but they were still easy to catch with the wide tail, surprised how easy it caught them actually. The narrow nose makes it prone paddle a breeze can really get some decent speed up on it when getting back out to the back.

Stability was super easy, the board is 107L and I'm sitting around 95kg my feet were wet but that makes the board super stable no uncontrollable tippyness that some boards have.

Fast and loose on the wave. If you want to turn the board just does it all for you and picks up speed really easily with a few pumps. It seemed to love hitting the foam which was great fun for this mornings conditions.

Nuggy! great to finally hear about the Casey/Flow in the surf!
More please!
Any chance for video at some point?

People are always asking me about the Flow 2.0 and I say... "I like the dims, but have never seen one"
My 9'0 is coming early December. Stoked!
This is a board that should suit a LOT of people.... if it surfs well, and you have nudged it down that road!

I'll grab a few videos. I was going to take my go pro yesterday but thought I'd be stumbling all over the place. Hopefully get out again later this week if the weather plays the game.

3 surfs in on the new flow 8,8, lovin it, very stable, lots of paddle glide, very well balanced has a big sweet spot, both for paddling and maneuvering, turns well from the middle and is super whippy when you got the back foot right back, FAST!!! down the line. Ive stepped up easily could of got away with the 8,4 but i like to paddle around flat water as well so wanted the extra length. Surfs much smaller doesn't feel 31 wide. Ive gone big on the fins with sunova 105s up front and 94s in the rear and its still super responsive. So far ive only had it in 2 to 3 ft and im stoked. Looking forward to seeing how it goes when it gets heavier. Im down to a one board quiver and if it can handle some bigger stuff reckon this could be the one...though i have said that before

Mine is on its way from SHQ at the moment...absolutely frothing to get my hands on it.....got the 8'8 also (im 96kegs) wondering what fins set ups you are using, grumpcat youve got he quad set up?? have you tried as a thruster??? I usually find the sunovas are 'overfinned" and was going to run with the Quobbas .....

Im only about 80kg, at your weight your in for a wild ride!!!,with the old flow i ran a heap smaller fin set up but this is a completely different animal...buckle up??

Tail slide... or more accurately, tail "drift" is what I am after these days.
I run most of my boards now as quads with small rears (pic 1)
My GenRation Kanga (by Sunova) seems similar to the Flow 2.0 in many ways... so I am anxious to get my 9'0 Casey/Flow to compare.

Ian Cairns was surfing my local a few days ago on a borrowed board, so I asked if he wanted to use my "Kanga"... but when I said I had tiny rears, he said "nah mate, I like real fins"
So I put in a set of Shapers and he loved it.

Yesterday had some juice (pic 2).... so I left the Shapers in.
Without the manageable "drift" I like, I couldn't surf worth a damn.
That drift smooths me out and makes everything easier.
The tail sort of follows my lead easier...
I don't have to force the tail in tight situations... it just goes where I need it, with just a slight weight shift.

I am trying to make a video that shows exactly what this "drift" has done to change my surfing.... but it is easier to feel, than it is to see on video.

Is a quad setup better for that tailslide action?

yes.
I started down this road with a small pivot fin in center and two biggish fins as sides...
but after I tried the small rear quads it really began to evolve.
There is more drift, but more control as well.
I can set a rail when I need to and the fins hold very well, but when I need them to drift, I get off the rail and allow the fins to slip a little.
Plus there is always a little looseness in the tail that is more forgiving on top turns and cutbacks.

Every now and then, I try too hard and kinda blow out the tail... which can be interesting as well

Awesome, I love sliding the tail on my smik. The flow is super grippy in comparison but I have it setup as a thruster at the moment which is still super fun.

Will get a set of medium rears and give that a whirl to see the difference.

I Always found my flows worked better with quads , I have 4.75 fronts and 4,25 rears ..thats inches ,ha .so 120 cm 106 rears. on the placid ,
still seems loose enough ,I use a little bit smaller on the 8,7 ...120.flow .
i just ordered my 8,8 flow @126.3 litres yesterday ...I didn't want to change it ,because i will keep my 120 litre flow .

going black . filth flow .for new year ,

Yewwwww Dave! Thanks for the pics!

Funny, I am trying to decide if I should recommend this board to a guy in OZ.... since I have never seen one in person.
I will hold off till I get mine in December.....

but it's so awesome to see your boards and read all your thoughts!
