Hi
Though I practice several water sports (windsurfing, windfoiling and supping), Sup surfing is the one which is worse for my neck. I'm 50 and I have some protusions on the neck but nothing too important. However I often finish supping sessions with rigidity, dizziness, pain and some time ago even migraines. My neck is also my weak point regarding stress, all the tension goes there, but for supping and kiting is a real problem. Cold in the neck is a factor which worsens it.
Doctors don't help much. I appreciate any experience, heating&stretching exercises (I also do before and after), etc.
G'day
I've got pretty bad stenosis (arthritis) in my neck. It can cause nerve entrapment, pins and needles, pain and muscle weakness
Looking to one side, as I do when I'm standing waiting for a wave messes up my neck.
The good news is some simple exercises from my physiotherapist keep it all under control. If I don't do the exercises my neck seizes up like a rusty gate
I won't describe the exercises because what works for me might not suit you. Get it checked out by a professional
Best of luck
PS hope I haven't offended you by not describing the exercises Mercel. Coincidentally, both my wife and I are having very similar knee problems at the moment. We've both been assessed by our Physio and, while our symptoms are the same, the physio exercises we do are very different. My knee problem stems from ankles and calves. Her knee problem is from hamstrings and glutes. So our physio exercises are very different.

+1 on getting physio assessment and help. Some focus on cervical problems.

I benefited from strengthening rehab exercises. That sounds kind of serious though make sure you are getting the proper diagnosis and imaging (mri etc). Dealing with the medical system sucks but sometimes it takes a 2nd or 3rd opinion from a top specialist to figure things out.
You may want to see a FeldenKrais method specialist.

It is a physical therapy designed to help rehab after an injury by helping your brain cope with physical limitations.
You can find some examples on youtube, to see what it is about, e.g:
I think the stiffest thing in the world is a 90% carbon mast and second my body. I've found lot of improvement doing daily yoga sessions. Ancient science knew lots of things we could do to improve our health and our daily way of living does not exactly help.
I had pain in my neck while paddling prone coming worsen winter after winters then 15 years ago my good doctor tell me it's cervical spondylosis. Since that time, I'm taking every day some Chondro?tine and Harpagophytum.
The pain in my neck disappears, and I think it also helps in my hip and elbow osteoarthritis.
If you're interested in improving your upper spine strength and flexibility try Chi Kung,a tai chi style. Lam Kam Chuen is a master in this discipline and has stuff on you tube and a excellent book
You my cervix keeps playing up since I took up winging
