What's wrong with lying down on short SUP?

I do it when the shorey is flogging me on the way out the back or I feel like seeing what the view is from ground level. Still jump up and catch all the waves I want.

Yeah cheers. I busted my knee yesterday so ill have to forget about it anyway. I'm honestly scared to say how i done it now.

Medium Billy back under different user name.

Back from a hamstring injury. Physio said 2 weeks..... Under the name Mediumbilly I was asking people how to paddle on the low volume board cause it was tickets galore. Anyway, I dropped more weight, down to 83kgs after being 93kgs, and I realised the secret to paddling round on this 8,0, 4 inch 27 and a half wide shortboard shape. Bending my knees when paddling!!!! I am dead serious, I wasn't doing this before, never thought to do it. Did it today and absorbed the wobbles very well. Definitely one of the most rewarding surfs I have ever had. Went for a second surf on low in the arvo. I have full on grom froth now.

I know it seems counter-intuitive saying this but soft knees is a key even when bending the knees. Forget not that you don't bend the knees to bend over at the waist either. It's really about remaining as upright as you can. Another trick that I've found to be valuable is keeping your eyes focused on the horizon which seems to assist in stability.

The main key however is getting to the point of not having to think about it and just letting your body adjust. You'll find yourself trying to adjust when it's too late and overcompensating when you're too overly focused.
