Most definitely.
Best beer of the day is the first one after a paddle.
Best event of the year is Merimbula, where we can paddle, have a beer, paddle again.
Have another beer

Salt water causes a thirst - kite, surf, windsurf, wingding, sup, etc all cause you to get thirsty. Beer is the best solution

Vodka with a beer chaser? Good activities deserve a good drink!

The Headless Mexican - a corona, take a swig then add nip of tequila and kalua was done plenty my last time on Maul.
At the beach, beer on ice after a sup with mates - bloody bonza cracker
Washes the salt away and talk **** on who had the best wave, who dropped in and so on.

Hitting 66 years old by now, I decide to stop drinking beer to enhance my SUP ...so don't talk to me about that evidence

Absolutely! And the more beer you consume, the better the session gets - by the end the waves were overhead and barreling.

I smoked pot once. About 40 years ago. Waves were overhead & barrelling when prone surfing.
When the pot started to wear off. We got out of the surf, looked back & it was only knee high.
Red wine nowadays always great reward after a great surf. And only drink late afternoon.
I drink plenty of water before & after to reduce the hangovers.

I went to church as a kid too and now I'm addicted to wine!.............. go figure.

I always want fish and chips for lunch after a good session....... just seems right for some reason.

Pretty sure "Getting barreled" is referring to beers after a surf

Thanks for that I always wondered about my red wine consumption .
These days I pay for my red wine.

I prefer wine, so I nearly never drink beer... except after a good SUP session (after the mandatory croissants+coffee, of course).
I have read that it is the bitterness of the beer that quenches the thirst.
And I so am lucky to have a local excellent brewery that has opened close to my home :-)

A red can over here in WA is mandatory after a surf.
