Recently got a go pro camera and I don't have a FCS mount on my board - can you get a FCS mount installed on the board or just go with the stick on mount?

It's possible to get your board cut open and have a mount installed but it would probably cost $150 minimum and my theory is you should never compromise the integrity of the board's construction if you don't have to. IMO, you would be far better off with the stick on mount. Get a foam float for the GoPro if you are worried about losing it in surf.

probably a good excuse to buy a new board. My new JL Striker 10' came with a GoPro mount built in. Highly recommend it.
Be careful with the stick on mount. I know many people who have been cut open on the face and hands by falling on it, its edges are hard enough to do a lot of damage to wet skin.

True, but falling on a mounted camera hurts more - I have done that a couple of times - ouch
A cheap gopro mount I made for my foil board to try and get some flying shots. Made from a cut down double suction cup from ebay. I would suggest using a safety leash for the camera.
Buy a roll of the Nito silver/grey duct tape and tape a square on the board of about 20cm square using about six strips slightly overlapping.
Then get the black plastic mount that the camera came mounted on the the original GoPro packaging (hopefully you didn't throw it out) and tape it to the square of tape that's stuck on your board using many overlapping strips of tape.
Run a safety string to somewhere just in case.. I've done this dozens of times and never had a problem.. Maybe avoid waves over head high.
Use a hair dryer to warm the tape when removing to avoid any paint pealing issues.
If you go with a stick on, definitely also apply a stick on leash anchor.
I took my mount off my Mana with my knee.... it took all the paint off with the mount, but the leash saved the camera.
I also had a floaty on the back of the camera, but maybe not necessary with the leash attached separately.
Of course, you could always go for the "Kook Hat Cam" mount, which is sooo much easier to turn on and off.
