I was given an inflatable SUP, with no accessories. To get it home, I had to deflate it - now I need a pump. Is there a fitting that I can use a bicycle floor pump to inflate the SUP ? I realise that the micro pumps on my bicycles are low volume.
And will I like SUP, anyway? A fortnight ago, I drove from western Sydney to spend 2.5 days paddling my sea-kayak around Victoria's Phillip Island. But SUP is lighter gear, and less fuss I guess, for a flat-water workout.

Sorry bicycle pump won'twork (either valve of car pump or road bike).
I don't have an inflatable but probably a kite pump should work for high volume with relatively low pressure

there is an adaptor aviable on market for a schrader valve to be able to use a standard compressor fitting and similar to inflate iSup's. that being said, for the volume required you will be spending a very very long time pumping if you try to use a bike pump as they are a high pressure, low volume pump.

There are a few places online where you can just purchase a Sup pump. There is a large variablity in the pumps so just be aware of that when looking to buy.

The PSI varies per brand. Look it up. To get to 15-20psi takes/makes easier a 2 stage pump that you switch over part way through.
It's a major workout regardless. The air compressor makes it a whole lot more fun if thats workable.

Bicycle pumps wont work, but I have read that foot pumps for inflatable beach toys, rafts, pools, ... work reasonably well, and pack in a compact shape.

Things like:

Disclaimer: I didn't try it myself.

We got a SUP to Shrader fitting off ebay that we are hoping to try on our inflatable this weekend

I bought the Red Paddle Schrader adapter. It's fairly useless. Best bet is to buy an electric pump, unless you want a workout before your workout.

I have a schrader valve adapter for our Isup. Plug in a cheep compressor and have the sup up to 15psi i about 15 minutes. You can do it with an isup hand pump in 10 but your arms back and shoulders will be aching unless your pretty fit.

Check out used gear at the SUP or windsurfer shops - I got a very close to new SUP pump from Windsurfing Perth for $10
