Does anyone know if you can get ledge handles from anywhere? The closest I have found arehttps://www.standupzone.com.au/product-page/sup-grip-handle
But not quite the same as the naish handles etc
Has been asked before and Surefire Boards (Slatz) sells some...

Some more options:
shapers.com.au/sup-handle/

I'm sure if you asked Scott @ Smik nicely, he'd sell you one too...
The FCS handle is well made, and easy to anchor reliably into the board (which may be an issue with some generic chinese ones with tiny flanges). You should be able to get one from any shop carrying FCS products.
I found the FCS ledge handle to be uncomfortable over any distance, my fingers only go so far into it. The handle in my Jimmy Lewis is much deeper and I find it MUCH better.
Have you checked out this SUPGRIP handle from Blue Planet in Hawaii?

The Blue Planet handle is the best I've used. Easy in and out of the car and really good in the surf to grab it if needed.
Yep the fcs looks like the one that's in the board already.
The blue planet one is the best I've seen but $30 for postage and I don't understand why no one is retailing the ones like naish, jp, yob, iops, and by the sound of it Jimmy Lewis...

The FCS, being shallow, has the advantage of not storing a lot of water (why spend hundreds of $ on a lighter board and then have a pint of water added to it), its textured surface provide a good grip for its size, and its rounded edges are toes-freindly.
I guess it is more geared for light, performance boards. I can run a mile in the morning with the FCS to get to secluded spots without trouble, and lift the board out of the water flat with one hand. But I guess that if you have heavy boards a deeper and wider handle is better and the water weight in it is a non-issue, so your mileage will vary.
Note that before the FCS I just added a ledge myself with a bit of domed pad on one side of straight handles, it worked impressively if you did not use gloves and do not have huge hands.
Others have made a similar ledge but with the epoxy sticks you mix by hand
Can only say what I've found. Carrying the 10' Gong I owned (FCS handle) any distance was painful. Had to keep stopping and changing hands. I now have two surf-sups, both with deep-ledge handles and what a difference, could carry them all day! If i was doing an install I'd go for deep-ledge every time. If the water-weight issue bothered me, I'd fill one side of the handle with foam, could reduce it by maybe 50% that way. Comes down to personal preference though, try both types and see how you get on.

Thanks Colas, this is a great suggestion. I've got an old Striker with the original handle and the alternative is an expensive new handle installed professionally (I'm not keen to take it on myself.
