My mate purchased a brand new 10' Naish Mana. He rode it twice in flat water to get the feel then twice in small surf. We were out in 1-1.5 m (3-4 ft). Just after high tide so no sand banks and relatively soft waves. We are in our mid 60's so not radical surfers. His board cracked across the bottom, up the rails and possibly across the top (under the grip so hard to tell). There is no impact damage to the front or back of the board or on the rails. It has cracked right thru the bottom deck and rails. The distributor has just said bad luck. Anyone heard of similar incidents. Tks Richard.
I've had one for 4 years and only one paint chip because my wife hit a pier, they are great boards so you should have no issue with warranty if it's new unless there is something they know that we don't???? Highly unusual!
yes...my mate cracked his in similar size ,,in half ..we fixed it ...was it a GS .Like his ?
the GT like Dave's is a lot stronger with the carbon in it ..
a wave broke on his ...it is a lot of area to have that weight of water on it ..
What a bummer... and yes a 1-1 1/2m wave will do it if you're unlucky.. Even 1-1 1/2 foot wave will do it but you would have to be extremely unlucky.. It's not a brand thing and I'm sure most if not all other brands would say it was bad luck.. In my opinion Naish are one of the better brands out there when it comes to warranties.
They should replace it,sounds like a faulty board if its brand new and not abused.
Go to consumer affairs.
I'm seeing more and more reports of easily damaged boards.
Seems like all the new construction techniques are going to have to weed a few bad seeds out.

Jimmy Lewis construction is an exception

Yep I have one of those too.
Yeah jimmy lewis Carbon is awesome!
The main reason I went back to Jimmy Lewis, was build quality, after 3 yellow board failures, fact!
Yes i had a yellow board failure exactly as described above. It was 2 years old and was been surfed in decent head high waves. But not sucky waves but rolling reef ones. Not repairable and 12 months later not replaced because how easily it collapse and the cost. Will look at other brands.
