Looking at doing a Rote trip next year. Sweet looking wave line-up. Anyone here SUP-ed over there.

Just wondering how friendly the wave is, and if there were any issues with trying to get transport the board over.

Cheers!

i once took an inflatable 10 NSP out to The Mountain cause its all i could get my hands on over there.Bloody funny, perfect 4 ft evening glass and one fella out, every time i took off damn thing folded in half, had a good laugh but was def on wrong equipment,i only took surf boards but i saw a young bloke snap his brand spankin Naish hokua clean in half on a fair size day.Its plenty doable but take good strong leggies and pick ya days carefully, beautiful place to chill out.

Surfed there 2 years ago with a sup, no problems taking a sup but if your taking the ferry from Kupang the baggage handlers on the ferry will want $, just pay them and your board will be fine. The break can get big at times but I I found it generally ok.
Hope this helps
