After having a very long break from the SUP (ie self diagnosed PTSD = Byron Bay shark experience), I've lost touch with groups and others who like a casual paddle around Sydney. I can do both flat and surf. No lessons required. Any suggestions on groups to join or if anyone wants a SUP buddy?

Come down to Melbourne I'll paddle with you! I think the guys at Balmoral organise a few things? I think there is a SUP club tab on the site here too which may be worth a look? Best of luck, it's better to paddle with a few people.
Sydneypaddlesurfingclub on Face Book and Instagram and you're sorted. Racing, surf and casual paddles.
Thanks for your replies.
I heard there was a group at St George Sailing Club... is that still around?
I was hoping to avoid facebook to find SUP people.....

I was involved in Botany Bay SUP Club at Georges River 16ft Sailing Club a few years ago, that may be the one you are referring to. The club dissolved though unfortunately after last year. SPSC, as mentioned above is the most popular one in the area, but yes, most communication is on facebook and via emails if you are a member. I maintain a calendar of local events if you want to check it out. I updated it anytime I get notice of any events. The SUPX Series at Balmoral is a very popular local, fun, race series. You should join on March 24. Would be a great place to meet lots of paddlers of all levels.

I was searching for same thing SUP Community/Buddy, that lead me to this website, and found your post,
I'm in sydney (north west), I used to do skiing and hiking (4000/5000 meters-summit), but now trying to be easy on my knee, so i started SUP recently, supposed i'm newbie but if you don't mind happy to join you.
I was also thinking to join Sydney Paddle Surfing Club, spsc.tidyhq.com/ They are very active but i'm trying to avoide facebook.
Hey, I've been wondering about some social paddling too with people from the forum as I'm the only one with a board ?? my friends have to hire theirs so we can't just go anywhere. Anyone keen for Roseville maybe?
