Clean off shore winds and a nice swell today at my home beach breaks on the Mornington Peninsula.
I went down without gear again just for a mind surf from the car and was instantly flabbergasted on the surfing as usual goings on.
We have the second most registered cases in the state of Victoria yet with half of Melbourne down here cruising around in sports cars I believe we could be hosting the highest number of cases in Vic.
I just don't understand why so many crew were surfing and beaching together.
One bank had about 19 surfers, two other banks had about 6 -12 surfers.
The beach had at least 30-40 people, groups of 6 towels side by side being common place.
Dads taking their kids surfing.
This does not make sense to me at this pint of the timeline in COVD 19
Common sense is not prevailing.
The message is out, my I-phone is even telling me to 'Stay at Home' in the top left corner.
If your in Melbourne reading this STAY AT HOME
Uniformed Life Savers were just observing a group of 10 swimmers in a shore break.
As already mentioned on this forum the medical system does not need some dumb surfer Dad presenting his kids or himself to the emergency ward with a surfing related injury or even worse surfing with some "tool" who has recently returned from OS.
My gear is getting dusty and unfortunately its going to be like that for a while.

You will always find those that are selfish and self centered who think they are better than everyone else. Be it a Prince or a Painter, own a Audi or a old Austin we are are all on the same level here.

Fantastic surf today - epic - and I was a good boy and stayed at home. By the looks of the trigger surfcams, LOTS of people went out. LOTS!

And they even say it is OK to surf on the Trigger site.

Meanwhile in Costa Rica, two days ago surfers are forcibly moved from the water and even shot at. Click the link below.
Scary and real.

We still have access to the beaches in WA, but it is very tenuous
. You should not be hanging out the beach, under the guise of exorcise we can use the beach/ surf.
This doesn't mean a three hour session, go out get a couple and **** off home!

Just playing the devil's advocate, not my opinion.

In terms of trying to stay out of the emergency room, statistically you have more of a chance of being in an accident and needing to go to the hospital from driving to the beach in your car than any beach activity.

But isn't that part of the reason they don't want us to go surfing - most of us have to drive to get there. We should only be out of the house for "essential" activities: food, medicine, etc.

(The irony is, my bro-in-law, who is a doctor, proposed a surf trip on Friday to the Prom - it involves a 3-hour drive one way!?!)

And the surf is perfect again this morning - who organizes great surf during a pandemic?!?

For sure people just aren't getting the isolation and hygiene Transmission aspects let alone the containment process.
So here's something yucky to visualize and to feel , from my work reality.

YOU NEED TO VISUALIZE EVERYONE AROUND YOU WITH UNWASHED **** ON THEIR HANDS AND ON EVERY THING THEY TOUCH.

Google - ROTAVIRUS - it'll give a soft base diarrhea description with infection times and transmission. WE get hybrid varieties with vomiting so adds orally droplets aspects,
so visualize your biggest ever full body power chucks simultaneously with worst cramping Bali belly Turbo power fluid drive swamp water squirts...... and then when you are empty... you feel you need to go...you HAVE.. it goes on for days.. full body cramping...sweats... you stink like stale swamp compost...dramatic weight and fitness loss...

If you hate this description and would hate to clean it up or help some strangers with ****..... visualize it next time you approach a group of people.

SO....does social Separation seem like a easy short term personal ,family and community preventative.

Enjoy

Polarising times with equally polarising opinions.

Those that stay at home versus those that don't.
