My buddy Kenyon is a beast.... and a super gentle, kind soul.
He dances to a different drummer.... I absolutely love this kid!

He rides big boards and hunts barrels.
This year, he broke all his boards, so I let him try my 9'5 x 33 GenRation Wedge at 180 liters.
Perfect fit :)

These pics are a good look into a very special person.

Love the surfer's face....

Kenyon likes a really long fiberglass paddle... because he doesn't break them.

Epic stuff, what a charger! So good to see a big board being put in waves like that, must have been a hoot!

Sitting in cool water chills you... but on SUP, I always dress for air temp.
I currently use a 2mm top and trunks... really only need the top if it's windy.
It is mid Fall, so temps are dropping.... air 12.5, water 14.6

I go as long as possible because at my age, the wetsuit changes everything. Basically I surf like a stick figure when in a full suit.
Yeah....I am happy to trade comfort, for performance.

So true that about dressing for the air temp,, I learnt that lesson on a hot winters day.. I was sweating inside my 4/3 steamer.

yeah, I went out when the air was warm, but the water was still winter temps in my 5.5/4, and I roasted. Literally had to stop surfing as my heart rate went through the roof...

Truth, I would die if I wore what the surfers wear

Dressing for the water and not the air temp also goes the other way, water is warm but a dawn session with cold offshore winds in summer can be bloody cold if you are in a rashie and shorts
