Yes, a typically selfish attitude from
Mr Down South himself
Maybe spare a thought for all the lost tourist dollars and the locals who are going to be doing it tough instead.
Fkn idiot.

Cry me a jealous river!
What part of "stay the fk home" does everyone not understand? Car parks and surf breaks were so over crowded over the weekend, more than usual, with not a single local to be seen.
Don't talk to me about locals doing it tough. I'm an AMR rate payer and work for myself within the shire. I work for many wineries, cafes, shops, short stay accomodation units and in peoples homes. Anywho I don't have to justify my position here as we are ALL doing it tough. Stop being selfish metro wankers and think twice about going for that "down south" surf trip because there are people who live and work in these communities who you are going to come in contact with.
fkn idiot.

pretty clear who's the kook and shortsighted in here. At the speed things go there will be no surfing allowed anyway, you will then be a liability for your own community...

What is his request? Is It to, "Stop being selfish metro wankers and think twice about going for that "down south" surf trip"
Who is doing that now the regions are closed?

Don't worry though Greeny, soon as we are back to normal, this "Metro Wanker" will be down there, like you used to do when you lived in Perth
And i will be bringing my tourist money with me to keep you going through these tough times.

For the sake of my own family, and friends in medical professions in the region I 100% agree - pull your heads in and don't travel down there metro folk. Keep it as local as you can until we all get through this season.
Ol'greenie could work on his delivery and persuasion skills a bit though admittedly

I hope the locals enjoy the isolation and get their fill, and are able to financially make it out the other side. I'd rather be doing the next few months down there as well, but that wasn't meant to be for me and mine.

Flip side, Unless you can get up there before midnight tonight, desert season should be pretty empty for the Carnarvon locals without all the MR blow ins haha

I rarely voice my opinion on forums, especially SB as we're a decent (mostly) crowd, but anyway..

I don't understand why the original post would be put up? We are all edgy as and surfing is a big relief to some - including me.

Too bad too sad is just antagonising. I surf the SW fairly often, but haven't for the last while with all that's going on (ppl should not be) as I'm conscious of the situation - so I take the post as a slap in the face.

A little sensitivity goes a long way at the moment, so best not to post this sort of thing - it benefits no one as we all know the changes coming in Tuesday...the whole situation sucks, including the post.

Stay safe and look out for one another.

It would be easy to get carried away with this post. Essentially Greenroom is spot on. We need to stay away from each other and stop the spread. It seems to be working and the beach is still open.

Stay safe breezers hope to see you on the other side of the virus.

Fingers crossed mate, they may just start with shutting down major car parks and go from there. This is an ever changing beast, I don't even think the people making the decisions know from day to day.

History suggests that a larger percentage of people will take whatever liberties they have disregarding common sense until the law needs to step in, I feel like once the law steps in the common sense side of it goes out the window as they need a blanket rule to make it easier to enforce.

Just shake my head when I see crowds of people on a bank or at point packed lately, they will be the first ones to complain about civil liberties being taken away from them when that percentage are the ones ruining a common sense safe approach so we can enjoy limited surfing but still able to have a bit of fun.

Just my opinion but I think a couple of good swells will be all it takes for the crowds of people surfing a confined space and packing car parks to force the laws hand..

Trigg last Sunday was a joke... always is first new swell after a 'dry' patch... but I thought the social distancing may have caused some people to give it a miss - nope, just as packed as always. I looked elsewhere but it was too small and so I went home to mow the lawns

I personally think it will be around Easter when they close the beaches
The masses aren't clever enough to know when they are on a good thing
Bondi beach is a prime example. If people can't be trusted to heed the advice given then the authorities will step in
Trigg point days are numbered.
And unfortunately those that choose to do the right thing will be punished by those that are too selfish to see past their next wave
Human nature at its finest.
I snuck in a wave today 500m away from everyone else and the next group to come out decided where I was surfing was the place to be
Enjoy the impending ban on surfing people
