...Superstart Saturday ???
...There's more going on in that picture than first meets the eye...
Quite a few fast and experienced slalom guys being shown how it's done by not 1 but 3 ladies !!!
And then there's one gentleman definitely heading for Port Douglas side of the pin ???
He might have been avoiding OCS but same time you do need to sail ON CS ;)
OCS ...on coming sailers, maybe. On CS ?? I'm confused ????? What is this terminology???
Anyways, can't wait to get there, soak up the atmosphere and learn from the experts.
OCS Sunday ???
On Course Side is an expression used in sailboat racing to indicate that a boat was on the wrong side of the starting line when the starting signal was given. In slalom racing, there are not that many rules (!!!) but the fundamental is thou shalt not cross the startline before the starting signal.
Some go to extraordinary lengths to avoid the penalty of going directly to the bottom of the score sheet.
As compared to directly to the bottom of the ocean (!?) or anywhere else you might end up.
Yes the start crew have got to see just about every possible escape option. And a few more.
... Moloa Monday ...
Moloa. Laidback, even lazy...
2014 delivered the most intense racing conditions yet of any GI Nats event.
Howling winds, black skies and the sea took on a dark shade of grey green.
And the next day, the opposite and most spectacular.
Billy Craig Photography captured it. Both ways...

the 'gentleman' might just be trying to avoid the warrior women battling it out at the boat!
...TwoUp Tuesday...
...2015...These two had some pretty tenacious racing at the top end of the Slalom fleet...
What a place to sail always look forward to this week unfortunately I injured my back in January this year at work and will not be competing in the GPS was hoping to have a mirical recovery and try and do slalom with no sailing this year will make call at last Minuit
I talked to the Resort yesterday and they still have rooms available - they offered a special rate for competitors of $370/night for a room with 2 double beds.
Throwback Thursday ???
...Not really... Rather, looking ahead to a better outcome !!!
And a "speedy" recovery for one of the quickest guys in the scene,
and one who has worked so hard to achieve the Championships he has rightly won!
We look forward to having you back in the game soon...
. . . Satisfying Saturday . . .
. . . Some say only a surfer knows the feeling. . .
. . . We could suggest a similar scenario. . .
. . . A nice little "warm-up" for those feeling the need. . .
